Service Description
Cavan 365 Youth Diversion Project is a community based project which seeks to divert young people from becoming involved (or further involved) in anti-social or criminal behaviour. The project supports young people in their personal development and promotes civic responsibility.
Each young person in a Youth Diversion project has a tailored programme of activities specifically to meet their individual needs.
Some typical outcomes for young people may include:
Improved educational attachment and/or attainment
Reduced substance misuse
Facilitate personal development and encourage civic responsibility
Increased engagement with pro-social peers
Improved parenting effectiveness
Increase in pro-social attitudes and behaviours
Improved use of leisure/recreation time
Who the project works with:
Young People age 12 -17 years
Young people aged between 8-11 years (Early Intervention)
Families of young people referred
Young people deemed Harder to Reach, who are currently not engaging in services
Young people are referred to the project by:
A Juvenile Liaison Officer
Community Gardai
Other Local Agencies
Self-Referral
